For eyes only. This document will not self-destruct, but it does explain what we keep.
1. Who we are. Ash Legion is a gaming community site run by Ashlan Nathens. You can reach the handler at https://www.ashlegion.com/contact/
2. What we collect when you authorise. When you check in with your API key, we gather the intel we need to recognise you:
- Your GW2 account name (for example, Name.1234) and your account ID.
- Your world and, if you’re in our guild, your guild rank. Guild rank only unlocks guild-only competitions. We don’t use it for anything else.
- Your display name on this site and your login details.
3. Your API key is not stored. We show your key to ArenaNet’s systems once, to confirm the account is genuine and read the details above. Then it’s gone. We don’t keep copies, we don’t write it down, and we don’t brief anyone on it.
4. What we do with the intel.
- Confirm the account is yours, so you can enter competitions and log Snake games.
- Record your Snake games against your account.
- Enter you into any competition you choose, and contact the winner through the site if you win.
5. What goes on the public board. Only your GW2 account name and your game counts. Nothing else. Your world, guild rank, email and other details stay classified. Anonymous games (played without authorising) are counted, but nobody gets a name.
6. Who else gets briefed. We don’t sell intel to anyone. The site’s hosting provider keeps the files running. We don’t use a third-party email provider. We check accounts with ArenaNet’s API, and their privacy policy governs that channel.
7. How long we keep the file. Until you ask us to close it.
8. Your rights. You’re entitled to:
- See what we hold on you.
- Ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to close your file at any time. We then remove your details and your name from the public board. Your games stay on the books as anonymous counts, so the totals remain accurate and nobody is identified.
- Withdraw your authorisation at any time, through https://www.ashlegion.com/contact/
9. Age clearance. You acknowledge that you are 18 or older.
10. Operational security. Your API key only needs read access to your account. Keep it to yourself, and don’t reuse your site password anywhere else. We can’t take responsibility for losses caused by a compromised key or password. Please don’t share your key with anyone, including people who claim to be from the Legion.
11. Not affiliated. Guild Wars 2 and its related names are trademarks and copyright of ArenaNet and NCSoft. Ash Legion is an independent gaming community and has no affiliation with them. Any resemblance to real agencies is purely coincidental.
